There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your website. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your future website will be. I price all my web design on a per page basis. Simple, informational type sites are typically less expensive, while sites containing specialty scripting and database writing will be more expensive. Prices start at $100 per page.
The only additional costs you will incur are for website hosting and domain name registration. These will typically run about $100 to $125 annually. In addition, if you so desire, you can secure a website maintenance contract with me to keep your site up to date and fresh. So once your website is finished, these will be the only ongoing costs for your site.
As many pages as you would like. There is no limit, and from a search engine's viewpoint - the more pages, the better!
Generally I can construct a website in a week or two after the design process is completed. The design process involves you and I discussing the overall look and function of the site. The timely construction of a website depends on each of us working together. The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to me by the client.
You will be responsible for providing the text content of your site and any images, logos, etc. You will also need to contract with a web hosting company for your server space and domain name registration. I can provide several recommendations for you.
It stands for "uniform resource locator". This is the address typed in to view your web page on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.katzenjammerdesigns.com to access my home page.
A domain name is a specific website address that you choose and register with Network Solutions(the official registrar of domain names ending in .com, .edu, and .gov). There are many websites available for registering your domain name such as GoDaddy.com and Register.com. The domain name of my website is "katzenjammerdesigns.com".
Site maintenance is a fee paid monthly or annually to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good websites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. This is an optional service that I provide for my customers. If you want to maintain your website yourself you can do so using an inexpensive and easy to use software that I recommend.
Once the final payment is received, you will receive 100% ownership of your site. I do retain the copyright to the design, but the site is yours.
Yes. I can completely redesign or just freshen up an existing site. Whether your company's website "just doesn't look professional" or it takes too long to load or the navigation system is too confusing, I can help.
Yes, with some exceptions. The web hosting service you choose will probably guarantee 100% uptime, however servers can have problems from time to time which may cause your website to be down for a short period of time.
Yes. With most servers you can have several email addresses with your website. For example, if your website is www.myphotography.com,
your email addresses could be mail@myphotography.com or george@myphotography.com. You have the freedom to set up the email addresses you need.
I typically require half down before starting the design process of a website. The balance is due immediately upon completion of the website.
