background
web design process

My desire is to delight the client. One way to do this is to make clear our understandings with each other.
Having a well-defined process in place saves us time and helps both you and I clearly understand what each
party is responsible for and when.

1. Initial Consultation - no-charge meeting to talk about expectations for your website.
2. Web Design Worksheet and Contract
- my take on what you told me, and what we plan to do. If you agree, we
sign a contract to protect us both and to agree upon our mutual responsibilities to get the project done efficiently.
3. Content
- you send me the text, photos and any existing graphics (your logo) that you wish to use on your site.
4. Sitemap & Mockups - I design the flow of the site in graphic format, pages to be included, and how they link
together. I prepare 3 design prototypes for your feedback.
5. Prepare Web Pages
- I code the site based on your chosen design.
6. Quality Control - I validate the code, optimize the code and content for the search engines, and do an overall
walk through of the site.
7. Final Approval and Launch - after your approval of the final design, I upload the site to your server and test
it thoroughly.

8. Post-Launch - I tell you about techniques for keeping your website fresh.
